Mark your calendars! The peak viewing time for the Ursids is the night of December 22nd to 23rd. The meteors appear to radiate from the constellation Ursa Minor, also known as the Little Bear. To find them, look north at midnight, as the 22nd transitions into the 23rd. Because Ursa Minor is circumpolar from the UK – meaning it's visible year-round – you can start your watch as soon as the sun dips below the horizon.
