In a bold move that has caught the attention of wrestling fans everywhere, TNA has officially secured the contracts of two exciting talents from the world of professional wrestling. Elayna Black and Mr. Elegance have joined the roster, a decision that many insiders expected after their recent appearances on Impact programming. Now that the ink is dry on their contracts, both wrestlers are set to make their mark in TNA.
Elayna Black's signing was celebrated with a video announcement where she reminisced about her journey. She shared with TNA president Carlos Silva that attending her first TNA event back in 2010 ignited her passion for wrestling, with the legendary Tommy Dreamer inspiring her to pursue a career in the ring.
Previously known as Cora Jade during her time at NXT, Black made a name for herself by capturing the NXT women's tag team titles alongside Roxanne Perez. Last year, she participated in a talent exchange between TNA and NXT, where she challenged Masha Slamovich for the Knockouts Championship at Sacrifice, although she fell short of winning that coveted title. However, her return to TNA was solidified when the new authority figure, Daria Rae (also known as Sonya Deville), chose to bring her back into the fold. Black now has her eyes firmly set on dethroning Lei Ying Lee to claim the Knockouts championship.
On the other hand, Mr. Elegance, who has also made quite an impression, is not just about showmanship; he brings physical prowess to the TNA roster. Although he hadn’t officially signed prior, his contract is now confirmed. His charismatic display of muscles made quite an impact on Dreamer, who humorously noted, "I used to have a body like that myself."
Wrestling under the name AJZ in the independent circuit, Mr. Elegance has competed in various promotions, including NJPW Strong, ROH, and TNA over the years, with most of his matches taking place in OVW. Notably, he's also a former national champion in natural bodybuilding and has experience as a freestyle skier. His combination of fitness and charisma aligns perfectly with the ethos of the Elegance Brand.
