The Rising Star of UFC: Melquizael Costa's Unstoppable Streak
In a sport where every win matters, Melquizael Costa has quietly etched his name into the UFC record books. With an impressive five consecutive victories, Costa is on a mission, and his plans are nothing short of grand.
December 16th, 2025, marked a significant day for Costa as he emerged victorious against Morgan Charriere at UFCon ESPN 74. The featherweight division witnessed Costa's dominance, as he knocked out Charriere with a swift head kick, securing his first knockout finish in the UFC.
But here's where it gets controversial... Despite the impressive win, Costa was denied a post-fight bonus. However, this didn't deter his momentum, as he continued his winning streak, claiming four victories in 2025 alone. An incredible run that included defeats of Andre Fili, Christian Rodriguez, and Julian Erosa, the latter earning him a Fight of the Night bonus.
And this is the part most people miss... Costa's success hasn't gone unnoticed. At just 29 years old, he's setting his sights high, with a potential title shot against featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski on the horizon.
"I plan to return to Brazil and bring some Christmas cheer to the kids," Costa shared at his post-fight conference. "Next year, I aim to fight frequently. Three fights are ideal. I want to face top-10 opponents, then the top five, and eventually, I'll be ready to challenge for the belt."
